About Carl

Carl Prizzi has been serving as Village Trustee since he was appointed in August of 2021. He was elected March of 2022 in a special election to fill the one year remaining on former Trustee Lauren Touchard's term. He was then re-elected in 2023 to fulfill a four-year term. During his tenure, Carl has taken on multiple roles throughout various departments in the Village, including Commissioner to the Malverne Fire Department where he worked closely with Chief Bohringer on many crucial initiatives including spearheading the RFP and vendor evaluation process for the installation and successful completion of a new roof for the Fire Department which was funded primarily by a State grant.

Carl has also worked on the procurement of critical technology and equipment for the Fire Department including vital dispatching and telecommunications equipment funded by Federal grants, new computer systems and servers, important electrical upgrades to the building in addition to a new fire police vehicle. These important capital improvement projects have been carried out thoughtfully working within the 5-year capital plan.  â€‹

Carl also served as board liaison to the Celebrations Committee where he coordinated in the planning and execution of many of the Village-wide celebrations and events such as the Lighting of Malverne, Groundhog Day and the Memorial Day Parade. Although no longer the Celebration Liaison, Carl continues to assist in many Village celebrations.

 

Carl actively serves as liaison to the Malverne Building Department where, with his background in software development, will oversee the testing and pilot rollout of the online permitting system in an effort to streamline permit processing and reduce the volumes of manual paperwork within the department. Carl assisted in much of the planning and value engineering of the new Malverne Police Headquarters by assisting with cost reduction and vendor negotiations of construction, critical technology and security infrastructure as well as office furniture, helping to save the Village hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars.

Carl is currently the liaison to the Malverne Youth Board where he built an online Summer Recreation registration system to facilitate event sign-ups and coordinates monthly activities and events with the Youth Board for the children of Malverne to take part in. In addition, Carl is currently the liaison to Malverne Seniors Club where he helps to allocate budget to facilitate the various Senior programs.

Carl also serves as Director of Communications over the past 6 years managing the Village website and social media. Carl played a critical role in disseminating crucial information to the Village residents during the height of the pandemic. Carl is also the liaison to Malverne TV where he coordinates consistent messaging across all Village communication channels.

Carl actively serves as Secretary of the Village Traffic Commission and served as Chairman of the Malverne Centennial Committee. 

​

Carl has been a dedicated volunteer in many Malverne organizations such as Assistant Scoutmaster of the Boy Scout Troop 24, Cubmaster and Den Leader for Pack 24 with combined leadership efforts over 10 years. Carl and his wife Jen are dedicated Malverne Civic Association members, and Carl is served as a Board Member of Nassau Land Trust at Crossroads Farm, former Our Lady of Lourdes School Board member, dedicated member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Men's Club and CYO Soccer Coach for over 10 years. Carl thoroughly enjoys serving the residents as Village Trustee.

Carl and his wife Jen have enjoyed calling Malverne their home for over 22 years and are proud parents of their 2 teenage children, Nicolas and Kayla. Carl has over 24 years of professional experience in digital technology, project planning, business management and is currently Executive Vice President of Revenue at a public web software company.
